Normannen Exhibition in Mannheim

I am happy to share my experience about the "Normannen" Exhibition at CEM in Mannheim, Germany. Honestly, I didnt really know what the term means. Nortmanni the Latin name of the men from the North ("Nordmänner"). Between 800 and 1200 the Normannen were one of the powerful groups in Europe. Originally they were coming from Scandinavia as the well known Vikings and divided into Normannen and East European "Rus". In East Europe (e.g. todays Ukraine) and in the Normandie (North of France) they have built powerful kingdoms. Their secrets were a fast integration and havent been a homogene group. A lot of scientist are saying that this might be the reason for their success.

Furthermore, they have been in England, Iberic Peninsula, South Italy, and established the Kingdom of Sicilia. The history of the Normannen is a large part of european history! I can just recommend to dive deeper into this topic!
